Up and Coming Dates:
Friday, 21th November - External Event Bahrain Marathon Relay
Friday, 28th November - Festive Fair
This week in English, it was wonderful to welcome so many parents into the classroom to see how the learners are accessing the curriculum and how they can be supported at home. We have been exploring how we would feel and what we might see if we woke up to discover the topiary, all in preparation for writing our diary entries.
Home learning
Spelling practice. Your child could draw, paint, sing or write them! A spelling quiz will take place every Thursday morning.

In Maths this week, the learners have been focusing on subtracting two-digit numbers using concrete resources. The children enjoyed working with Base 10 equipment to help them visualise the subtraction process and build a strong understanding before moving on to more abstract calculations.
Home Learning
To support their learning, children can continue to practise subtracting two-digit numbers at home.
For example:
What is 54 − 23?
What is 78 − 42?
In Science this week, the learners have been investigating the differences between bulbs and seeds. They collaborated to explore different fruits and vegetables, and they named different parts and identified where seeds were located or if the plant grew from a bulb.
This week in Enquiry Learning we have been comparing the weather in Bahrain and UK. We have also been learning about the seasons and how it affects how we live, what we wear and even what we eat. We are keeping a weather journal comparing the weather in Bahrain to London. We have learned meteorological terms and how weather is predicted (forecasted) using the website Meteoblue.
Home Learning
To further support their learning, please explore the weather in different countries with your child using the Meteoblue website.
Also, compare the transport system in Bahrain to that in your home country. Are they the same?

We got to play a lot of games in this week's Year 2 French sessions and they were a great way of allowing us to show how confident we are becoming with our numbers and days of the week.
Next week, we are going to be developing our listening skills and we will revisit our focus story.
Year 2 learners explored how music can tell a story by reading a graphic score that depicts the journey of a train. They learned to follow symbols representing different sounds, such as chugging wheels, whistles and fast-moving sections. Working together, they used their voices to perform each part in sequence, building confidence as they matched the shapes on the score to the changing moods of the train’s journey.
