A gentle reminder we are collecting non-perishable food items throughout Ramadan to support families in need. Items can be dropped off at the Learner Entrance. Thank you for your generosity.
This week in Year 4 English, the learners started their new class text, The Lost Happy Endings. They learnt that their final task will be to write a persuasive letter to the witch from the story, asking her to return the missing happy endings.
The week began with exploring key vocabulary from the book to help the learners understand the story and its characters. To make their writing even more meaningful, the learners then visited the EYFS classrooms and read stories to the younger children. They enjoyed seeing the different reactions to stories with sad endings and happy endings and carefully recorded how the children felt in each situation.
These experiences have helped the learners gather ideas and will support them as they continue to develop their persuasive writing skills over the rest of the unit.
Next week we will be looking at the writer's knowledge used in our text.
Ask your child what persuasive means.

This week in Maths, learners explored factors and practised multiplying three numbers efficiently. They identified factor pairs using arrays and multiplication facts, strengthening their understanding of how numbers can be broken down. Learners then applied this knowledge to multiply three numbers by grouping factors strategically to make calculations easier. Throughout the week, there was a strong focus on explaining reasoning and using mathematical vocabulary accurately to deepen understanding.
Next week we will be continuing wiith factors and factor pairs.
Ask your child what factor pairs they know for 12, 24, 36 and 48.
📢 Exciting Enrichment Opportunities
As learners explored factors and multiplying three numbers, families may wish to reinforce th ese skills through simple practice at home.
🧮 Factor Challenge: Ask your child to find all the factor pairs of a chosen number and explain their reasoning.
✖️ Three Number Multiplication: Encourage your child to multiply three numbers by grouping two numbers first to make the calculation easier.
💬 Maths Talk: Ask, “How do you know?” to support reasoning and explanation skills.
This half term in Science, we switched on our learning as we began exploring the exciting world of electricity! Learners tested their prior knowledge by matching key technical vocabulary to its meaning and impressed us with what they already knew. We also investigated everyday appliances, identifying which run on mains power and which use cells or batteries. A bright and buzzing start to our new topic!
Next week we will be carrying out an investigation around school.
Ask your child what electricity vocabulary they have learnt so far.

In Year 4, we kicked off our new topic, "Inventions That Changed the World." The learners explored groundbreaking inventions such as the telephone, aeroplane, light bulb and hoverboard. They had a wonderful time and are eager to learn more about the inventors behind these remarkable creations.
Next week we will be looking at the people behind some of the inventions we use today.
Ask your child what they learnt from our launch pad this week.

We have been learning new words and playing games pretending to be the various animals.
We are pleased to share the launch of The Arabic Stories Digital Library, an innovative initiative from our Arabic Department designed to strengthen our culture of reading and academic excellence.
The platform provides a carefully curated collection of Arabic stories tailored to learners’ varying interests and proficiency levels. Learners are encouraged to read at least one story per week and complete a structured reflection task to deepen comprehension, enhance written expression, and develop critical thinking skills.
The library will continue to expand through regular updates, ensuring fresh and engaging content. This initiative supports independent learning, advances language development, and reinforces cultural identity — all aligned with our strategic vision and High Performance Learning framework.
Further details will be shared by Ms. Zenab after the half-term break.
We are pleased to inform you that a dedicated email address has now been created for reporting learner absences. Please use attendance@nadeenschool.com to notify the school if your child will be absent on the day. All of the absence correspondence should as always go through the form tutor. This will help us ensure accurate attendance records and streamline communication. Thank you for your cooperation.
