This week, our focus has been on creating tension in action paragraphs. We explored drama by showcasing the characters' determination, curiosity, and courage through their facial expressions, body language, and spontaneous dialogue.
Spellings
These are the spellings that we will be focusing on next week in class. Please help the learners practise these at home.
peace / piece
main / mane
fair / fare
knight / night
flower / flour
This week in Maths, our learners have brought their Place Value topic to an end. They have practised rounding different numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000. They enhanced these skills through a number of activities, including written work, board games and creating posters explaining their methods. Next week, they will move onto the exciting topic of addition and subtraction!
This week in Science, Year 4 began a new topic: States of Matter. We explored the three main states – solids, liquids, and gases – and discussed their different properties. Learners enjoyed hands-on investigations to see how materials can change when heated or cooled. We also began using scientific vocabulary such as melting, freezing, and evaporation. The children are excited to continue discovering how states of matter link to real life in the weeks ahead
Enquiry Learning
This week, learners began their knowledge harvest on earthquakes, exploring what they already knew and what they wanted to find out. We investigated how earthquakes occur and learned the important safety step of “Drop, Cover, Hold On” in case of an earthquake. To finish, the learners created informative safety posters to share their knowledge and raise awareness.

Well done to our Year 4 Wolves of the Week.
Celebrating Our Community Together We are so thankful to the wonderful group of parents already helping us plan for our Diwali celebration on October 9th. From October 5th–9th, parents who observe Diwali are warmly invited to visit their child’s class to share a story, lead a craft, or introduce another cultural activity. If you would like to take part, please reach out directly to your child’s class teacher. We also warmly welcome parents who would like to share traditions from any cultural or national celebration that is special to your family. Part of what makes Nadeen School so unique is our wonderfully international community—over 70 nationalities, each with its own traditions, stories, and celebrations. Together, we create joyful experiences that help our children learn, connect, and appreciate the richness of our diverse world.
Please note that our canteen is available only from Year 4 onwards.
Primary learners in Year 4 and Year 6 will be able to start using the canteen after the half term.

October: Cancer Awareness Month 🎗️
During the entire month of October, our school is dedicated to Cancer Awareness. This is a time to show support, raise awareness, and stand in solidarity with those affected by cancer.
We warmly invite all parents and learners to take part in this meaningful initiative by:
Writing a message of hope, strength, or remembrance
Drawing a picture that reflects cancer awareness – whether it's a ribbon, a heart, or a tribute to someone special
Your contributions will be displayed around the school as a symbol of our community’s compassion and support.
Let’s come together to honor the fighters, celebrate the survivors, and remember the loved ones we’ve lost.
Together, we are stronger.
