This week in English we have been exploring a river story about Tom’s journey along the river. The children have been creating their own sentences inspired by the story, focusing on adding noun phrases, adjectives, and suffixes to make their writing more descriptive.

Maths

This week we have been making progress with our mathematical skills. We have been partitioning numbers in different ways and been exploring the values of numbers on a numberline. We have als been practising skip-counting in 2's, 5's and 10's

Home learning

All learners should be able to quickly recall Number Bonds to 10. A quick game is

'Who's best friends with?'

Show or say a number of fingers and your child's response should be the corresponding number of fingers that can be added to make 10.

For example, show 3 fingers and your child should respond with 7 fingers. Or say '3' and your child should quickly respond '7' - as 3 +7 = 10,

Science

In Science this week, we have been learning about reptiles. The children explored what reptiles need to survive and enjoyed a hands-on activity where they grouped animals into different categories. They have been really engaged and are thoroughly enjoying the topic.

Enquiry Learning

We started our new topic, 'Toy Makers', this week, which encompasses History and Art. Learners have been identifying toys from the past and comparing them to present-day toys. We have also looked at popular Bahraini games and toys from the past.

Home Learning

Please talk to your child about your favourite childhood toy, or perhaps they can do this with a grandparent or older relative.

Canteen Acess for Primary Learners

Please note that our canteen is available only from Year 4 onwards.

Primary learners in Year 4 and Year 6 will be able to start using the canteen after the half term.

All canteen cards that have been ordered for Primary learners will be held securely by the school all the time.

For parents who ordered the cards for Early Years up to Year 3, refunds will be processed though the app, and a notification will be sent to you account in the app.

This will be an opportunity for you to bring and sell any gently used and unwanted household goods. Nadeen Families pay 5BD as a registration fee, and external families pay 10BD with all registration fees going to Think Pink Charity.

*No food is allowed to be sold on this day.
