Up and Coming Dates:
Term Break 19th of October to 23 October
Monday 28 October - Key Stage 2 Coffee Morning
Thursday 30 October - Halloween
Our learners engaged in sensory exploration using a variety of natural objects. These included leaves, pinecones, smooth stones, and wood. Children were encouraged to touch, feel, and describe the different textures they encountered. We introduced new vocabulary, spiky, rough, smooth.
This week, our learners delved further into "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?", exploring its patterns, sequencing, and rhythm. They engaged with a classroom version of the story, excited to turn each page, confidently predicting lines and taking turns to step into each character’s role. This supported in building both their reading fluency and collaborative storytelling skills.
We have been continuing to develop our fine motor skills using different tools. This week, we have used hole cutters and scissors to cut leaves, practising careful hand-eye coordination and control. The children have really enjoyed exploring the textures of the leaves while strengthening their cutting skills.
Following the vibrant Diwali celebrations last week, the learners have been further exploring patterns this week. Using grains, beans, and other natural materials, they expressed their creativity through unique and intricate designs. This was an engaging activity that also supported the development of their fine motor skills.

Nadeen School Annual Festive Fair
We are delighted to let you know that we are hosting this event again on Friday November 28th from 11am-4pm at Dilmunia, the home of our brand new, state-of-the-art campus.
On this day children, parents, staff and friends will come to our fair for a fun family day. We have games and prizes for the children, independent vendors offering various products for sale, food stalls, and a raffle. Last year we had over 2000 visitors to our Fair and it was an incredibly well-attended, well-enjoyed event; we are expecting even more visitors this year!
One of our largest fundraisers during the year is our Festive Fair Raffle. If you or your company could donate a raffle prize, such as a voucher, gift, gift certificate or hamper, it would be greatly appreciated by Nadeen School children, parents and staff. Should you be interested in sponsoring our event, please let us know by emailing v.trindade@nadeenschool.com and ks1-parentboard@nadeenschool.com
We will begin phasing the purchasing of food from the canteen into Primary from Wednesday, 14th October, starting with Year 6 learners. To support the smooth operation of this process, learner cards will be kept in school and given to students at lunchtime to make purchases.
Please note: learners can only purchase food if they have a card.
If you would like your child to buy lunch from the canteen, you will need to purchase a learner card. Instructions for how to purchase the card can be found spare APP.
Please ensure there is sufficient money loaded onto the card to allow your child to buy food. You can use the SPARE app to top up the card, view what your child has eaten, and purchase meals in advance.
We are aiming to introduce this system to Year 4 and Year 5 learners after the half-term break. We need this time to carefully organise the process so that we can maximise efficiency and ensure a smooth experience for all learners.
We thank you for your patience and understanding during this introductory phase.
