Box of Goodness Ramadan initiative
A gentle reminder we are collecting non-perishable food items throughout Ramadan to support families in need. Items can be dropped off at the Learner Entrance. Thank you for your generosity.
In FS1 this week, the children worked together to create a large class Elmer using bright, colourful materials. They enjoyed sticking different coloured patches onto Elmer, talking about the colours they chose and remembering different parts of the story. This simple, hands on activity supported communication and language, expressive arts and design, and early literacy in a meaningful and engaging way.
This week in FS1 our focus has been the environment. We have talked about how to care for our world and discussed simple ways we can help, such as recycling and keeping our surroundings clean. Through this, children develop their Personal, Social and Emotional skills, with our learners being encouraged to take responsibility for their classroom and outdoor areas, work together, and show care and respect for the world around them. In our creative area, the children explored mixed media, using a variety of materials to create.
Our phonics focus for this week has been the phoneme /e/. We have been focusing on the story Elmer, linking our learning to a range of engaging and interactive experiences within our classroom provision. We have also introduced new vocabulary into the provision such as engage, eggs, exciting and explore to help develop the children’s language alongside their phonics learning. The children particularly enjoyed exploring the egg shakers, using them to explore simple rhythm games which supported both our phonics development and early listening skills.
It has been an exciting first week back from the mid-term break! The children have been learning about the Holy Month of Ramadan, exploring its traditions and significance. They enjoyed decorating the classroom with crescents and stars, and observing the beautiful lanterns, carefully noticing their colours, patterns, and details. Through these interactive experiences, the children have been building their understanding of different cultural celebrations and traditions around them. We also discussed Gergaoun, the festive celebration happening mid-Ramadan where children wear their colourful, festive garments!
Our P.E. days continue to be the following for each class
FS1 KB: Thursday
FS1 SZ: Monday

We are pleased to share the launch of The Arabic Stories Digital Library, an innovative initiative from our Arabic Department designed to strengthen our culture of reading and academic excellence.
The platform provides a carefully curated collection of Arabic stories tailored to learners’ varying interests and proficiency levels. Learners are encouraged to read at least one story per week and complete a structured reflection task to deepen comprehension, enhance written expression, and develop critical thinking skills.
The library will continue to expand through regular updates, ensuring fresh and engaging content. This initiative supports independent learning, advances language development, and reinforces cultural identity — all aligned with our strategic vision and High Performance Learning framework.
Further details will be shared by Ms. Zenab after the half-term break.
Please find here the External PAID ECA Providers at Nadeen School for Term 2.
We will begin phasing the purchasing of food from the canteen into Primary from Wednesday, 14th October, starting with Year 6 learners. To support the smooth operation of this process, learner cards will be kept in school and given to students at lunchtime to make purchases.
Please note: learners can only purchase food if they have a card.
If you would like your child to buy lunch from the canteen, you will need to purchase a learner card. Instructions for how to purchase the card can be found spare APP.
Please ensure there is sufficient money loaded onto the card to allow your child to buy food. You can use the SPARE app to top up the card, view what your child has eaten, and purchase meals in advance.
We are aiming to introduce this system to Year 4 and Year 5 learners after the half-term break. We need this time to carefully organise the process so that we can maximise efficiency and ensure a smooth experience for all learners.
We thank you for your patience and understanding during this introductory phase.

We are pleased to inform you that a dedicated email address has now been created for reporting learner absences. Please use attendance@nadeenschool.com to notify the school if your child will be absent on the day. All of the absence correspondence should as always go through the form tutor. This will help us ensure accurate attendance records and streamline communication. Thank you for your cooperation.
