Our learners have been exploring the sounds of the letters 's', 'a', 't' and 'p' this week. They are practicing blending these sounds to build simple words and boost their reading skills. Encourage your child to listen for these sounds in everyday words at home to reinforce their learning!
This week's focus has been Sorting, Matching and Categorising.
Our learners took part in various different activities extending their vocabulary with the describing words, 'same' and 'different'.
Sorting objects such as socks or buttons, allows the children to make links to real-life.
In Mr Tom’s music class this week, the children explored animals through sound!
They used instruments to mimic different creatures, roaring like lions, fluttering like birds, and stomping like elephants and ended the session by having lots of fun playing on the keyboards.
This week as part of our settling in process we focused on drawing self-portraits. All the children explored what makes them unique, the shape of their smile, the colour of their eyes, and the way they see themselves.
