This week in Maths, our FS1 children explored the concept of capacity through hands on play. Using tiles and plenty of chickpeas, they investigated which ones could hold more or less. Our learners are beginning to use mathematical language such as full, empty, half, and nearly full, developing their understanding of measurement while having great fun pouring, scooping, and comparing!
In PE this week, the children have been developing their coordination and control through a range of fun movement activities. They practised balancing, jumping, and moving in different ways, building their confidence and awareness of space. Working together, the children listened carefully, took turns, and encouraged one another, showing fantastic teamwork and enthusiasm throughout!
As part of our phonics provision for this week we have been exploring the phoneme /t/. We're discovering objects that have the initial phoneme of /t/ such as tomato, teeth, tent, turtle, and tiger. This also incorporates in our story for the week, "Tiger Who Came To Tea". The learners are then encouraged to sound out the phoneme as they trace the grapheme of /t/.
Our FS1 learners have been incorporating Remembrance Day in their provision throughout the week. They used loose parts and their imagination to create their own poppies. They explored different materials, shapes, and colours while learning about the world around them. Through this activity, the learners discovered how people in different cultures remember and honour one another.
We are excited to have FS1 start their PE sessions, next week. This week, the PE teachers have come down to introduce themselves to the children. Please ensure your child is wearing their PE uniform and appropriate footwear on the allocated day below.

Nadeen School Annual Festive Fair
We are delighted to let you know that we are hosting this event again on Friday November 28th from 11am-4pm at Dilmunia, the home of our brand new, state-of-the-art campus.
On this day children, parents, staff and friends will come to our fair for a fun family day. We have games and prizes for the children, independent vendors offering various products for sale, food stalls, and a raffle. Last year we had over 2000 visitors to our Fair and it was an incredibly well-attended, well-enjoyed event; we are expecting even more visitors this year!
One of our largest fundraisers during the year is our Festive Fair Raffle. If you or your company could donate a raffle prize, such as a voucher, gift, gift certificate or hamper, it would be greatly appreciated by Nadeen School children, parents and staff. Should you be interested in sponsoring our event, please let us know by emailing v.trindade@nadeenschool.com and ks1-parentboard@nadeenschool.com
We will begin phasing the purchasing of food from the canteen into Primary from Wednesday, 14th October, starting with Year 6 learners. To support the smooth operation of this process, learner cards will be kept in school and given to students at lunchtime to make purchases.
Please note: learners can only purchase food if they have a card.
If you would like your child to buy lunch from the canteen, you will need to purchase a learner card. Instructions for how to purchase the card can be found spare APP.
Please ensure there is sufficient money loaded onto the card to allow your child to buy food. You can use the SPARE app to top up the card, view what your child has eaten, and purchase meals in advance.
We are aiming to introduce this system to Year 4 and Year 5 learners after the half-term break. We need this time to carefully organise the process so that we can maximise efficiency and ensure a smooth experience for all learners.
We thank you for your patience and understanding during this introductory phase.
