English

We have explored traps this week! After reading some more of the Iron Man, we have realised that the farmer's trap failed! The learners were set the task of coming up with their own trap for the Iron Man. Planning this properly will take a few weeks, but we started by coming up with a plan using conjunctions to make our sentences more interesting.

Spellings

Our spelling focus next week is spelling words that have the 'ur' sound but are spelt 'ear'.

Our spelling words are:

4) heard

5) earn

6) pearl

7) search

8) rehearse

Maths

Year 3 have continued to explore numbers up to 1,000. Learners represented numbers with hundreds, tens and ones, found 1, 10 or 100 more or less, and practised placing and estimating numbers on a number line through collaborative, hands-on activities.

Science

In Science this week we have started to use our knowledge of human bones and compare them to animal skeletons. We have explored similarities and differences between animals and humans and thought about the reasons why animal skeletons can be quite varied.

Enquiry Learning

We have begun our exciting new learning in our Enquiry subject this week. Our big question is Where does food come from? We started off with an exciting immersion event where all the learners brought in a dish from their home country. Thank you to everyone who contributed. The learners had an engaging morning where they learned about different tastes, stepped out of their comfort zone and started wondering what is in the food they're eating and where did it come from?

What we learned this week
The letter Meem مَ مُ مِ مْ / ما مو مي and a lesson about the house

They will practice recognizing and using different classroom items, such as pencils, books, and rulers. They will also learn common classroom actions, including أقرأ (I read), أكتب (I write), أرسم (I draw), أستمع (I listen), and أشارك (I participate). By engaging in these activities, students will be able to discuss their classroom activities and create simple sentences to describe their actions.

We are pleased to inform you that a dedicated email address has now been created for reporting learner absences. Please use attendance@nadeenschool.com to notify the school if your child will be absent on the day. All of the absence correspondence should as always go through the form tutor. This will help us ensure accurate attendance records and streamline communication. Thank you for your cooperation.

Canteen Acess for Primary Learners

Please note that our canteen is available only from Year 4 onwards.

Primary learners in Year 4 and Year 6 will be able to start using the canteen after the half term.

All canteen cards that have been ordered for Primary learners will be held securely by the school all the time.

For parents who ordered the cards for Early Years up to Year 3, refunds will be processed though the app, and a notification will be sent to you account in the app.
