6) meat
7) ball

This week in Maths, Year 3 began exploring addition and subtraction. Learners applied their knowledge of number bonds within 10 and practised adding and subtracting 1s and 10s to strengthen their mental maths skills.
This week in Science we have started our new topic, Diet and Nutrition. The children explored the different components of meals and worked collaboratively to identify healthy and unhealthy parts. They shared ideas, discussed food choices, and reflected on how to build a balanced diet.
This week, learners explored a range of farms to understand where different foods originate, including poultry and dairy farms. They examined how these foods contribute to a balanced diet by studying the Eatwell Plate. Learners made thoughtful connections between healthy food choices and the farms that produce them, developing a deeper understanding of the journey from farm to fork.

Nadeen School Annual Festive Fair
We are delighted to let you know that we are hosting this event again on Friday November 28th from 11am-4pm at Dilmunia, the home of our brand new, state-of-the-art campus.
On this day children, parents, staff and friends will come to our fair for a fun family day. We have games and prizes for the children, independent vendors offering various products for sale, food stalls, and a raffle. Last year we had over 2000 visitors to our Fair and it was an incredibly well-attended, well-enjoyed event; we are expecting even more visitors this year!
One of our largest fundraisers during the year is our Festive Fair Raffle. If you or your company could donate a raffle prize, such as a voucher, gift, gift certificate or hamper, it would be greatly appreciated by Nadeen School children, parents and staff. Should you be interested in sponsoring our event, please let us know by emailing v.trindade@nadeenschool.com and ks1-parentboard@nadeenschool.com
We are pleased to inform you that a dedicated email address has now been created for reporting learner absences. Please use attendance@nadeenschool.com to notify the school if your child will be absent on the day. All of the absence correspondence should as always go through the form tutor. This will help us ensure accurate attendance records and streamline communication. Thank you for your cooperation.

October: Cancer Awareness Month 🎗️
During the entire month of October, our school is dedicated to Cancer Awareness. This is a time to show support, raise awareness, and stand in solidarity with those affected by cancer.
We warmly invite all parents and learners to take part in this meaningful initiative by:
Writing a message of hope, strength, or remembrance
Drawing a picture that reflects cancer awareness – whether it's a ribbon, a heart, or a tribute to someone special
Your contributions will be displayed around the school as a symbol of our community’s compassion and support.
Let’s come together to honor the fighters, celebrate the survivors, and remember the loved ones we’ve lost.
Together, we are stronger.
We will begin phasing the purchasing of food from the canteen into Primary from Wednesday, 14th October, starting with Year 6 learners. To support the smooth operation of this process, learner cards will be kept in school and given to students at lunchtime to make purchases.
Please note: learners can only purchase food if they have a card.
If you would like your child to buy lunch from the canteen, you will need to purchase a learner card. Instructions for how to purchase the card can be found spare APP.
Please ensure there is sufficient money loaded onto the card to allow your child to buy food. You can use the SPARE app to top up the card, view what your child has eaten, and purchase meals in advance.
We are aiming to introduce this system to Year 4 and Year 5 learners after the half-term break. We need this time to carefully organise the process so that we can maximise efficiency and ensure a smooth experience for all learners.
We thank you for your patience and understanding during this introductory phase.
In case of any questions, please contact directly support@paywithspare.com
