This week in Maths, our learners have recapped and cemented their understanding of rounding to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000. They took on the roles of teachers and explained the method and process of rounding through posters.
The learners finished the week with an exciting assessment, to find out everything they had learnt from the Place Value topic!
This week in Science, Year 4 continued exploring their topic on States of Matter. We revisited the three main states solids, liquids, and gases and discussed how their properties can change. Learners took part in fun, hands-on activities to observe how materials respond to heating and cooling. They also used new scientific vocabulary such as melting, freezing, and evaporation with growing confidence. The children are looking forward to investigating more real-life examples of states of matter in the coming lessons.
Enquiry Learning
This week, our young explorers have begun an exciting new topic on volcanoes! Learners have been discovering how and why volcanoes erupt, and they couldn’t wait to bring their knowledge to life through hands-on volcano eruption projects. The classrooms have been buzzing with curiosity, teamwork, and anticipation as each group begins building its very own model volcano, ready for a spectacular eruption next week!

Well done to our Year 4 Wolves of the Week.
We will begin phasing the purchasing of food from the canteen into Primary from Wednesday, 14th October, starting with Year 6 learners. To support the smooth operation of this process, learner cards will be kept in school and given to students at lunchtime to make purchases.
Please note: learners can only purchase food if they have a card.
If you would like your child to buy lunch from the canteen, you will need to purchase a learner card. Instructions for how to purchase the card can be found spare APP.
Please ensure there is sufficient money loaded onto the card to allow your child to buy food. You can use the SPARE app to top up the card, view what your child has eaten, and purchase meals in advance.
We are aiming to introduce this system to Year 4 and Year 5 learners after the half-term break. We need this time to carefully organise the process so that we can maximise efficiency and ensure a smooth experience for all learners.
We thank you for your patience and understanding during this introductory phase.

Last year we had over 2000 visitors to our Fair and it was an incredibly well-attended, well-enjoyed event; we are expecting even more visitors this year!
One of our largest fundraisers during the year is our Festive Fair Raffle. If you or your company could donate a raffle prize, such as a voucher, gift, gift certificate or hamper, it would be greatly appreciated by Nadeen School children, parents and staff. October: Cancer Awareness Month 🎗️
During the entire month of October, our school is dedicated to Cancer Awareness. This is a time to show support, raise awareness, and stand in solidarity with those affected by cancer.
We warmly invite all parents and learners to take part in this meaningful initiative by:
Writing a message of hope, strength, or remembrance
Drawing a picture that reflects cancer awareness – whether it's a ribbon, a heart, or a tribute to someone special
Your contributions will be displayed around the school as a symbol of our community’s compassion and support.
Let’s come together to honor the fighters, celebrate the survivors, and remember the loved ones we’ve lost.
Together, we are stronger.
