Dear Parents,
International Week is a celebration of the diverse nationalities, cultures, and histories represented within our school community.

If you would like to take part, please sign up using the link here and confirm your details as well as those of your child/ren.
We look forward to celebrating our community’s diversity together.
This week, learners have been exploring new Phase 3 sounds and revising all the sounds we have learnt.
/air/ /er/
They have been using their phonics knowledge to write about what they would eat if they were a caterpillar too!
This week, the learners have been enjoying a range of Maths games focusing on finding, ordering, representing, and exploring the composition of the numbers 6, 7 and 8. We are also continuing to explore the mathematical concept of 1 more and 1 less as we delve into early addition and subtraction. We use natural materials to support our learning to enhance links to real life, and to explore hands-on learning using our senses.
This week, the children have been reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar, which led to thoughtful conversations about healthy eating and how we can take care of our bodies.
They explored different foods from the home corner, discussing which choices help us stay healthy and strong.
The children then created their own drawings of “healthy plates”, proudly selecting and illustrating foods they felt were good for their bodies.
This week in Art, the learners explored the colourful world of Eric Carle, inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar. They used paint to explore new colours and practise blending, discovering how different colours change when mixed together. The children also created tissue paper collages, focusing on insects in Eric Carle’s style.
Through tearing, layering, painting, and gluing, they developed fine motor skills and creativity—and proudly showcased their bright, textured artwork.
We are pleased to invite you to join us for our upcoming Run Like a Legend event.

We will begin phasing the purchasing of food from the canteen into Primary from Wednesday, 14th October, starting with Year 6 learners. To support the smooth operation of this process, learner cards will be kept in school and given to students at lunchtime to make purchases.
Please note: learners can only purchase food if they have a card.
If you would like your child to buy lunch from the canteen, you will need to purchase a learner card. Instructions for how to purchase the card can be found spare APP.
Please ensure there is sufficient money loaded onto the card to allow your child to buy food. You can use the SPARE app to top up the card, view what your child has eaten, and purchase meals in advance.
We are aiming to introduce this system to Year 4 and Year 5 learners after the half-term break. We need this time to carefully organise the process so that we can maximise efficiency and ensure a smooth experience for all learners.
We thank you for your patience and understanding during this introductory phase.
