We have been analysing our instruction text, where we have been finding the features. Features help us to recognise that it is an instruction text. For example, all instruction texts have command verbs like 'put', 'place'. Other features are that the instructions are numbered. That will let us know the order the instructions should be followed in.

In Science this week, we have been learning about the different habitats animals live in and the types of food they eat. The children explored animal diets, including herbivores, carnivores and omnivores, and began to develop an understanding of simple food chains. Through discussion, pictures and examples, they talked about how animals get their food from their habitats and how living things are linked together.
This week in Enquiry Learning, the children have been exploring Bee-Bots and learning how to use simple codes to make them move. Everyone worked well together in their groups, showing excellent teamwork and communication. The children also drew on their prior knowledge of Scratch to help build and sequence algorithms, developing their early coding and problem-solving skills.
We are delighted to share our Home Learning Choice Board for this half term. This is an optional activity board for your child to complete. There are nine practical and engaging activities to choose from, please select up to three.

Dear Parents,
The Ministry of Health and Education of Bahrain, requires that all learners joining Grade 1 which is Year 2 must have a compulsory medical health check examination completed and signed by a doctor in Bahrain in order for an early detection for any chronic disease.
Please attach a letter sent by the Health Care Centers.
I would be grateful if the examination form could be sent to me no later than 15th of February (new deadline) 2026 to nurse@nadeenschool.com, including your child’s name and class with a copy of the latest updated vaccination record. Please see more information here.
I appreciate your cooperation with this mandatory health record.
Please find here the External PAID ECA Providers at Nadeen School for Term 2.
A big well done to our Year 2 learners who produced super work on animals.
They carefully selected the correct the correct word from a bank of animal words and wrote it next to the animal.
We then looked at glimpses of wild animals and had to guess which one we could see.
Year 2 learners explored how music can tell a story by reading a graphic score that depicts the journey of a train. They learned to follow symbols representing different sounds, such as chugging wheels, whistles and fast-moving sections. Working together, they used their voices to perform each part in sequence, building confidence as they matched the shapes on the score to the changing moods of the train’s journey.
