This week in English, learners explored a WAGOLL (What A Good One Looks Like) of a flashback narrative.
Building on last week’s learning, they created their own planning sheets, carefully incorporating features such as expanded noun phrases, semi-colons, hyphens, synonyms, antonyms, and suffixes.
To finish the week, learners stepped into the shoes of a character from A Story Like the Wind and wrote a short memory diary, bringing the character’s voice and experiences to life.
This week in Maths, we tackled a range of place value challenges. Learners explored powers of 10, practised using number lines, compared and ordered large integers, and rounded numbers to different degrees of accuracy. We also investigated negative numbers through real-life contexts, strengthening our confidence with values below zero.
This week in Science, our focus was on classifying organisms. Our learners explored how living things can be grouped into broad categories, such as vertebrates and invertebrates. They engaged in activities to sort animals based on different criteria and identified key characteristics that distinguish various types of organisms. Additionally, we discussed the importance of features like backbones and exoskeletons.
This week in Enquiry Learning, we tuned into our new unit about animals that are existing, endangered and extinct.
Learners took part in a virtual visit to a zoo, where they observed and identified different things that sparked their curiosity and helped tune them into the unit. We also carried out a knowledge harvest activity, where learners shared what they already know about the topic.
As we move forward, we are looking forward to learning more about the impact of humans on animal extinction and the depletion of natural habitats.

Dear Parents,
As part of our regular health and safety procedures and our ongoing commitment to maintaining accurate records, we will be sending a test SMS to all parents this Sunday at 10:00 AM.
This is a routine check to ensure our contact information is up to date and that we can reach all families promptly in the event of an emergency or important communication.
No action is required unless you do not receive the SMS. If that is the case, please contact us at Admissions@nadeenschool.com to update your details.
NOTE: SMSs will be sent to local numbers only; if you do not have one, please arrange to obtain a local number as we require 2 local contact numbers for each learner and a local emergency number different from the parents' numbers (This will be used in case of emergency only -not included in SMSs)
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
