After our in-depth analysis of our text, we are now planning to write our set of instructions. Learners are being guided to slowly include the features of a good set of instructions. We are also reinforcing our use of language features such as adverbs, conjunctions and adverbs. This will make our writing even better.

Ask your child to tell you how they plan to make a habitat for their Bog Baby. Will it be a desert, woodland, polar...?

Maths

In maths, we follow a CPA approach, Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract learning. This week, the learners have moved into the pictorial and abstract phase by solving different multiplication questions with increased confidence.

Science

In Science this week, we have been learning about food chains and how living things are connected. The learners explored different animals and discussed what they eat, developing their understanding of producers and consumers. They worked on ordering simple food chains, thinking carefully about which animals come first, next and last. Through discussion and visual examples, the learners learned how animals are linked in a food chain.

Enquiry Learning

This week, learners enjoyed a guided tour of the school to explore how computers and technology are used at Nadeen. They visited the camera room, learned how computers help regulate the swimming pool's temperature, and observed how technology supports learning in classrooms.

Learners have also begun their Design Technology projects, where they are designing and building their own computer-based creations. They are very excited and look forward to welcoming parents into the classroom on Tuesday, 10th February, to share and celebrate their learning.

Home Learning Choice Boards

We are delighted to share our Home Learning Choice Board for this half term. This is an optional activity board for your child to complete. There are nine practical and engaging activities to choose from, please select up to three.

You can share your child’s completed activities with your class teacher, they will provide brief feedback to your child in class time.

We are proud to announce the launch of the very first Nadeen Qur’an Competition, celebrating the words of Allah and encouraging our students to excel in beautiful recitation and meaningful connection with the Holy Qur’an.

Last week, we focused on reviewing for the ABT test (Academic Skills Test) to reinforce students’ knowledge and ensure they are well-prepared for the exam

ماذا سنتعلم هذا الأسبوع؟ | What we will learn this week

IIn class, we will focus on practice activities for the APT exam, which will be held in the first week of February. To support your child’s learning at home, kindly practice the test samples available at using the username: demo- Model A, making sure to select the first-grade test to start.

Learners will also be trained in class on speaking and writing skills according to the topics expected from second-year students. You can use the provided model answer sheet to support practice at home

Requirement from the Ministry of Health and Education

Dear Parents,

The Ministry of Health and Education of Bahrain, requires that all learners joining Grade 1 which is Year 2 must have a compulsory medical health check examination completed and signed by a doctor in Bahrain in order for an early detection for any chronic disease.

Please attach a letter sent by the Health Care Centers.

I would be grateful if the examination form could be sent to me no later than 15th of February (new deadline) 2026 to nurse@nadeenschool.com, including your child’s name and class with a copy of the latest updated vaccination record. Please see more information here.

Year 2 French

Our wonderful Year 2 learners worked hard on their numbers this week, impressing us all with their quick recall and confidence. We sang a great number song then played some games which were a fun way to check for understanding.

We also practiced listening to a range of animal words and trying to match them up to the written version.

Music

Year 2 learners explored how music can tell a story by reading a graphic score that depicts the journey of a train. They learned to follow symbols representing different sounds, such as chugging wheels, whistles and fast-moving sections. Working together, they used their voices to perform each part in sequence, building confidence as they matched the shapes on the score to the changing moods of the train’s journey.
