Up and Coming Dates:
Saturday, 8th November Family Fun Run
Monday, 10th November Odd Socks Day
Tuesday, 11th November Remembrance Day
This week, we began our new English unit focusing on diaries, using the book Egyptology as our inspiration. We explored rich vocabulary from the text, including words and phrases such as amulet, encrusted, and immaculate condition. Learners used these new words to create their own descriptive sentences, helping to deepen their understanding. We also used images from the book and our senses to immerse ourselves in the world of Egyptology, sparking curiosity and excitement for the unit ahead.
Our focus will be on spelling adverbs with -ly (with more than 1 syllable)
Our spelling words are:
1) happily
2) angrily
3) lazily
4) easily
5) busily
6) messily
7) cheekily
8) clumsily
This week in maths we focused on subtraction across 10 and across 100. If you would like to practice more at home, we suggest doing questions that focus on either having to cross over the 100 OR the 10 e.g. 230 - 50 = or 76 - 9 =.
The learners have been doing this a number of ways, either using base 10 blocks (actual blocks and drawing), number lines and mentally.
We have continued looking at types of diets this week: pescatarian, vegetarian, vegan and omnivore. The learners enjoyed creating their own meals depending on which diet they were looking at!
This week, Year 3 have begun exploring ‘what secrets did the Ancient Egyptians hold?’ topic in Enquiry Learning! Learners became archaeologists, uncovering artefacts in sand. The pyramids made at home have been wonderful and super creative! Well done and thank you to everyone who took part!

Well done to our Year 3 Wolves of the Week.
We have started looking at how to say a range of animals in French and, excitingly, we are learning how to say which ones we like and don't like using 'j'aime' and 'je n'aime pas'.
It was lovely to see how excited the learners were as they expressed their own preferences.
Next week, we will learn how to say more animals and whether we like them or not.

Dear Parents,
We would like to create a database of parents' expertise and professional backgrounds to enhance our school's activities. If you're interested in contributing and sharing your knowledge with our learners, please indicate how you would like to be involved by filling out this survey here.
Please find here the External PAID ECA Providers at Nadeen School for Term 1.
We will begin phasing the purchasing of food from the canteen into Primary from Wednesday, 14th October, starting with Year 6 learners. To support the smooth operation of this process, learner cards will be kept in school and given to students at lunchtime to make purchases.
Please note: learners can only purchase food if they have a card.
If you would like your child to buy lunch from the canteen, you will need to purchase a learner card. Instructions for how to purchase the card can be found spare APP.
Please ensure there is sufficient money loaded onto the card to allow your child to buy food. You can use the SPARE app to top up the card, view what your child has eaten, and purchase meals in advance.
We are aiming to introduce this system to Year 4 and Year 5 learners after the half-term break. We need this time to carefully organise the process so that we can maximise efficiency and ensure a smooth experience for all learners.
We thank you for your patience and understanding during this introductory phase.
