Following the announcement by His Majesty King Hamad in honour of the Bahrain First Festival, we would like to inform families that there will be an additional day’s holiday this academic year.
Nadeen School will be closed on Sunday 1st February.
Please note that all ECAs and external provider activities will not take place on this day.
We hope our Secondary families enjoy this opportunity to celebrate together. Learners will return to school on Monday 2nd February as normal.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
As we move through the term and approach the holy month of Ramadan, we would like to take this opportunity to remind learners and families of the importance of maintaining our uniform expectations and a professional learning environment across Secondary.
High standards of uniform help promote respect, focus, and a positive school culture, which is especially important during a time that calls for reflection, consideration, and respect for others.
Please ensure that:
Skirts are of appropriate length in line with the school uniform policy
Footwear is correct and appropriate for school
Jackets and outerwear worn during the school day are approved school items
Make-up is minimal and appropriate for a school setting
We kindly ask for your continued support in ensuring learners arrive at school well-presented and ready to learn each day. Any uniform concerns will be addressed by staff to maintain consistency and fairness for all.
Thank you for working with us to uphold the values of respect, responsibility, and community, particularly during this important period.
Learners have been having an incredible time on their ski trip in Italy this week. From gliding down snowy slopes to exploring the stunning mountain scenery, it has been wonderful to see them embracing every moment of this exciting experience.
We have especially enjoyed seeing the photos shared on the Nadeen School Instagram, giving our school community a glimpse of the fun, laughter, and achievements taking place on the trip. It’s clear that learners are making memories that will last a lifetime.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back next week, eager to hear their stories and see their adventures brought to life in the classroom.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be taking class photos for our Secondary learners.
Please see the attached schedule to identify when your son/daughter will be participating in their class photo.
We are also aware that there may be some scheduling conflicts due to learners attending BSME events or the Ski Trip. Please be assured that we will reschedule class photos where necessary to ensure that no learner is left out.
Please submit your child's top 5 subject choices, in order of preference, using the provided link. The options survey will close at 3:00 pm on the 29th of January. You can also find a link to our curriculum booklet for reference.

Learners from our school recently took part in an exciting Spelling Bee competition, joining pupils from several other schools for a day of friendly competition and academic challenge. The event was hosted by members of Al Noor International School’s community and was organised into two categories, with separate contests for the Year 8 learners followed by Year 7 learners, allowing them to compete confidently alongside peers of the same age group, all sporting their contestant numbers around their necks.
After a rehearsal briefing, the competition began with a no-elimination practice round, giving all participants the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the format, build confidence, and settle into the competitive atmosphere without the pressure of being eliminated. This was followed by knockout rounds, where learners demonstrated focus, resilience, and strong spelling skills as they progressed through various challenging words. In these rounds only, learners were allowed to ask for the word to be repeated, a definition of the word, a clue, or the word to be used in speech.
The final stage however, was a high-energy quick-fire round, where learners were given one minute to spell as many words correctly as possible. Participants were allowed to pass on words that they found difficult to spell within the time limit, encouraging strategic thinking as well as accuracy. Winners were determined by the total number of correctly spelled words within the time limit.
At the conclusion of the event, learners and staff were congratulated and recognised for their participation, efforts and achievements, with different medals and certificates awarded. Overall, the trip was a fantastic experience that celebrated literacy, encouraged healthy competition, and allowed learners to represent the school with confidence and pride.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all learners, staff, and coaches for their incredible efforts and enthusiasm. Our learners participated in a wide variety of sports and athletics, demonstrating teamwork, determination, and school spirit. Along the way, medals were won, challenges were embraced, and most importantly, memories were created that will last well beyond the events themselves. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making these experiences so meaningful and successful.
We are pleased to invite you to join us for our upcoming Run Like a Legend event.

Our Year 9 learners recently took part in an exciting iGCSE Taster Day, designed to help them explore the wide range of courses available to them as they begin planning their next steps in school.
Throughout the day, learners rotated around different subjects in smaller focus groups, giving them the opportunity to engage more personally with teachers, ask questions, and gain deeper insight into each course. From the sciences and humanities to creative and practical subjects, the day offered a valuable chance to discover what makes every iGCSE subject unique – including content, skills developed, and future opportunities linked to each pathway.
The sessions were interactive, informative, and gave learners the confidence to begin shaping their options with clarity and enthusiasm. We are proud of the maturity and curiosity they demonstrated, and we hope this experience supports meaningful conversations at home as they move toward selecting the courses that best suit their strengths and ambitions.
A big thank you to our teaching teams for delivering inspiring taster sessions, and well done to our Year 9 learners for embracing the day with such positive energy and responsibility.
The future starts with informed choices – and Year 9 are officially on the journey.
We are aware that some parents have been having challenges in buying a new Nadeen polo shirt. Unfortunately the school's uniform suppliers are currently out of stock of the Nadeen Polo shirts. We are looking at ways to resolve this issue. In the meantime, white Nadeen shirts are available to purchase as an approved alternative item of the Nadeen school uniform. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
We are pleased to inform you that a dedicated email address has now been created for reporting learner absences. Please use attendance@nadeenschool.com to notify the school if your child will be absent on the day. All of the absence correspondence should as always go through the form tutor. This will help us ensure accurate attendance records and streamline communication. Thank you for your cooperation.
