Our learners have been exploring the phonemes /h/, /b/, /f/ and /l/. We have been exploring formation and creating words using these sounds as well as the sounds we have learnt previously.
This week our learners have been exploring numbers 1, 2, 3 in depth, discussing how they can be represented in different ways. We have been using objects, numerals, tally, part/whole models, and tens frames to support the learners to understand the true and real concept of what a number means!
This week the learners have had a great time investigating dinosaurs! We have learned that some dinosaurs were carnivores and herbivores, some were huge and tiny, some hard armour plates on different parts of their bodies to protect them and we learned some names such as Stegosaurus, Diplodocus and Triceratops. We also created dinosaurs using a range of media, and talked about why we don't see any real ones using vocabulary such as extinct, fossils, meteor and volcano.
This week, the children have been learning about Diwali.
They explored the festival’s traditions and meanings, created beautiful mandalas, and experimented with different patterns and colours. Through these activities, they learned more about different cultures and traditions, celebrating the importance of light, kindness, and togetherness.

October: Cancer Awareness Month 🎗️
During the entire month of October, our school is dedicated to Cancer Awareness. This is a time to show support, raise awareness, and stand in solidarity with those affected by cancer.
We warmly invite all parents and learners to take part in this meaningful initiative by:
Writing a message of hope, strength, or remembrance
Drawing a picture that reflects cancer awareness – whether it's a ribbon, a heart, or a tribute to someone special
Your contributions will be displayed around the school as a symbol of our community’s compassion and support.
Let’s come together to honor the fighters, celebrate the survivors, and remember the loved ones we’ve lost.
Together, we are stronger.
We are pleased to inform you that a dedicated email address has now been created for reporting learner absences. Please use attendance@nadeenschool.com to notify the school if your child will be absent on the day. All of the absence correspondence should as always go through the form tutor. This will help us ensure accurate attendance records and streamline communication. Thank you for your cooperation.

Nadeen School Annual Festive Fair
We are delighted to let you know that we are hosting this event again on Friday November 28th from 11am-4pm at Dilmunia, the home of our brand new, state-of-the-art campus.
On this day children, parents, staff and friends will come to our fair for a fun family day. We have games and prizes for the children, independent vendors offering various products for sale, food stalls, and a raffle. Last year we had over 2000 visitors to our Fair and it was an incredibly well-attended, well-enjoyed event; we are expecting even more visitors this year!
One of our largest fundraisers during the year is our Festive Fair Raffle. If you or your company could donate a raffle prize, such as a voucher, gift, gift certificate or hamper, it would be greatly appreciated by Nadeen School children, parents and staff. Should you be interested in sponsoring our event, please let us know by emailing v.trindade@nadeenschool.com and ks1-parentboard@nadeenschool.com
We will begin phasing the purchasing of food from the canteen into Primary from Wednesday, 14th October, starting with Year 6 learners. To support the smooth operation of this process, learner cards will be kept in school and given to students at lunchtime to make purchases.
Please note: learners can only purchase food if they have a card.
If you would like your child to buy lunch from the canteen, you will need to purchase a learner card. Instructions for how to purchase the card can be found spare APP.
Please ensure there is sufficient money loaded onto the card to allow your child to buy food. You can use the SPARE app to top up the card, view what your child has eaten, and purchase meals in advance.
We are aiming to introduce this system to Year 4 and Year 5 learners after the half-term break. We need this time to carefully organise the process so that we can maximise efficiency and ensure a smooth experience for all learners.
We thank you for your patience and understanding during this introductory phase.
