Today students were busy editing their projects all day long! They learned why seasoned editors say that an hour of editing often goes into every minute of video in the final product! Most students are using the free program Clip Champ, which, like many free programs, sometimes requires some troubleshooting. However, it does a great job at training students in how to think in layers when it comes to digital art. This type of strategic project also provides a lot of opportunities to practice wise decision making when it comes to time management, troubleshooting, and the complexity of the work. Next week, the students will showcase their work and reflect on their success in the Book Creator portfolios. They are welcome to bring a snack for just themselves or to share with the class of 14. We do have one student with a gluten allergy, another with an egg allergy, and 3 vegetarians.
Please consider attending Arbor Village's Trick or Treat event! This is where our senior pen pals live!
As we begin our school year and face new challenges, we are seeking new ways to enrich your child's education both in person and virtually. Our current wish list includes a set of classroom cameras (~$100 ea), Rubiks Cubes ($12), and a hand-held vacuum cleaner! I just put in a grant application to get 6 iPads (and accessories) for our classroom, so I will cross my fingers! Please click on the link below to donate to my Boise Foundation Account. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THOSE WHO ALREADY DONATED!
IT WILL BE PUT TO GOOD USE RIGHT AWAY!
(I'll start posting as soon as I have confirmed which students from each school are on the No Photo List. Thanks for your patience!)
