A student records a video on her digital portfolio explaining the pages in her Innovation Journal.
It was so nice to have the 1st graders back in the GATE classroom this week! Our morning sessions were spent working on acting skills. We explored how an actor has to use their five senses to convince the audience that they are really experiencing what they are pretending. After morning recess, we tested how believable our skills were with a game of Reverse Charades, where the whole group acts and a pair has to guess what they are acting like.
After lunch, students updated their digital portfolios with a new page showcasing their Innovation Journals. Then we had a small fall party with bingo and a costume design contest! We finished the day with Free Choice where students chose to use their maker boxes, experiment with tangram blocks, and play Battleship!
UPCOMING: There will be no GATE the week of November 29-December 3.
Just a snapshot of some of the awesome Halloween costumes the 1st graders designed for Ms Gabrielli!
