This week the 6th graders started their day with a surprise virtual reality coding lesson! Ryan Durfee, a BSU doctoral student and GATE teacher, offered our 6th grade class the opportunity for 3 free lesson on Blocksmith, a software program created by a Boise start-up. We couldn't say no to the opportunity, and the students who don't have to attend 7/8 compact math for the first hour of GATE will have access to the program until January 9th. The higher capacity version is also available to them in the app version if they have access to a non-Chromebook device.
The rest of the day was spent creating and editing videos highlighting the design and mechanics of their giant costumes/puppets. These videos must be completed by out next GATE class in December and will be added to the website for all to see!
UPCOMING: There will be no GATE the week of November 29-December 3.

(I'll start posting as soon as I have confirmed which students from each school are on the No Photo List. Thanks for your patience!)
