This week, the 5th graders started their day by joining Lowell in the school-wide science assembly, a presentation by BSU chemistry professor Henry Charlier aka Dr. Picklestein. He demonstrated several rather explosive science experiments.
After the assembly, we got back to work with our drones. The first part of our work was a bit of a failure as I had half of the class working on drone costume iterative design and the other half exploring Clip Champ, the video editing app we will be using to make our final drone videos. However, too many students needed my attention at once with this set-up, so after lunch (thanks to a fortuitously timed Amazon delivery) we were all able to just focus on drone costume design. We will continue with drone costume design next week and have a dedicated whole-class video editing lesson at a future class.
15+ shoe boxes (the ones that have the lid attached like a chest are best, but either work!)
30+ paper towel rolls
10+ cereal boxes
big bags of pretzels (for 2nd and 3rd grade snacks)
big boxes of chewy granola bars (for 2nd and 3rd grade snacks)
As we begin our school year and face new challenges, we are seeking new ways to enrich your child's education both in person and virtually. Our current wish list includes a set of classroom cameras (~$100 ea) and Rubiks Cubes ($12)! Please click on the link below to donate to my Boise Foundation Account. [LOWELL/GATE/GABRIELLI,AUDREY]
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THOSE WHO ALREADY DONATED!
IT WILL BE PUT TO GOOD USE RIGHT AWAY!
(I'll start posting as soon as I have confirmed which students from each school are on the No Photo List. Thanks for your patience!)
