In the most recent GATE class, the 3rd graders learned about the trash to treasure art form of magazine collages. After brainstorming and discussing strategies that can alleviate frustration or help us get through The Learning Pit, each student chose their favorite and created a magazine collage poster to represent it. Some favorite strategies include remembering similar challenges from the past, taking a deep breath, rereading the directions, asking a classmate for clarification, trial and error, flexible thinking, and laughing at mistakes.
