Today the 4th graders learned about common archetypal characters and the use of masks in traditional Greek and Italian theater. After learning the basics, the students got to work designing an original archetypal character mask and then started the process of building a paper mache base for their mask. Next week, they will paint their masks and add other elements such as fur to bring their characters to life.
