On Friday, the 2nd graders started their natural wonders of the world research projects! Each student was randomly assigned a natural wonder of the world, and they will create a fact sheet about the wonder as well as an engaging museum activity/display that connects to their wonder. They did a fantastic job working as a class to come up with success criteria and project ideas for the museum. They were also introduced to some basic online research rules, note-organization strategies, and the concept of a works cited. Here is the teacher and student generated project success criteria.
Many students were able to collect their 8+ research facts by the end of class. Next week, they will focus on creating their engaging museum activities/displays with their team, and the following week, we will set up the class as a natural wonders of the world museum! The students will then refine and repeat the process with the modern wonders of the world.
