Today, we had a small crew since our Roosevelt students were attending Snow School at Bogus Basin, and we only had Longfellow and Lowell students present. However, the groups put on their creative problem-solving hats and pressed on with the work that they could on their own. Two teams had all of their members, so they worked on set and character design. One team is even using green screen technology to bring extra life and magic to their video.
The 5th graders have three more weeks to see that everything falls into place, from the costumes and sets, to the drone programming, to the video editing. It will take a lot of teamwork and troubleshooting, but they are up for the challenge!
Next Tuesday is "Read a Shirt" Day at Lowell! Students are encouraged to wear a shirt that can be read. GATE students are always welcome to participate in Lowell spirit days.
Thank you so much to everyone that has donated to the Lowell GATE Classroom Fund this year! Your donations have purchased 2 drone kits, tons of art and engineering supplies, and 5 huge Lego sets! I have my eye on some Rubik's cubes, a full-sized microscope, and math/strategy challenges. Please click on the link below to donate to my Boise Foundation Account.
(I'll start posting as soon as I have confirmed which students from each school are on the No Photo List. Thanks for your patience!)
