Today the 3rd graders reflected on what they learned about slideshow faux pas last week and then had a lesson about note taking and research strategies. The students and I then co-created a set of success criteria for both notes and a slideshow comparing and contrasting Earth and Mars.
After this, the students were able to get to work! They will finish these presentations at the start of next week's class and add the slideshows and a self-assessment to their portfolios. Next week, we will also practice giving productive feedback to classmates through the comments feature on Book Creator.
The last class will be May 18th.
Adults who would be willing to video chat or stop by the 1st grade class and share about their career, especially if it is a STEM career! If you are willing to hold a Q and A with the students, I can design classwork to accompany your job. Or, if you would like to teach the students something, that's great too! Last year, we had fun learning about architecture, wildlife biology, computer coding, and several other careers. I can't wait to see what we can put together for the students this year!
