Today the 6th graders continued their Study of the City research. Next week, they will start their field trip proposals, making calls, and figuring out the schedule for our downtown day. I am still waiting for confirmation from the bus company, but the tentative plan is to be gone from 9:30am-1:30pm on Monday May 9th. I will contact those of you who have reach out about chaperoning as soon as this is confirmed.
We also had the pleasure of having 3 former GATE students join our class for a panel today! The 6th graders were able to hear about the 7th grader perspective and ask questions to ease their minds about transitioning to junior high next year. We're so thankful that they joined us, and we hope some of this year's 6th graders will be willing to come back to be on next year's panel.
Thank you so much to everyone that has donated to the Lowell GATE Classroom Fund this year! Your donations have purchased 2 drone kits, tons of art and engineering supplies, and 5 huge Lego sets! I have my eye on some Rubik's cubes, a full-sized microscope, and math/strategy challenges. Please click on the link below to donate to my Boise Foundation Account.
(I'll start posting as soon as I have confirmed which students from each school are on the No Photo List. Thanks for your patience!)
