Ventolin

Ventolin (salbutamol , in USA is albuterol) Beta 2 agonists

Ventolin nebulizered dose = 0.05-1.5 mg/kg/dose (0.01-0.03 ml/kg/dose)

0.5% Ventolin respirator solution ( 5 mg/ml )(0.01cc=0.05mg)

10 kg = 0.3 ml+NSS 2-2.5 ml neb q 4-6 hr

Ventolin nebule (2.5 mg/2.5 ml) (1 ml=1 mg)

10 kg = 0.5-1.5 ml +NSS 2 ml neb q 4-6 hr

• • use NSS dilute due to sterile water is irritation =>bronchospasm

  • use O2 flow 6-7 L/min (particle size 5-10 micron. in to bronchio)

  • use 2.5-3 cc for nebulizer for 10-15 min is good if more than 20 min is not better

Ventolin oral dose = 0.1-0.15 mg/kg/dose q 6-8 hr max 2mg/dose

tab 2 mg, syrup 2mg/5 ml, expectorant 1 mg/5ml

10 kg = 2.5 cc tid-qid pc

Ventolin MDI Meter dose inhaler( 0.1 mg/1 puff , 200 doses)

1-2 puff q 4-6 hr

Ventodisk Dry power inhaler (200microgm/dose)

200-400 microgm/dose q 4-6 hr
