Hello, My name is Nicholas. I was born in Florida and moved to Hawaii when I was two and grew up in Mililani. I graduated from Mililani High School in 2017, and transferred to UH West Oahu from Leeward Community College. If I were an artist's tool, I would want to be an eraser. No matter how many mistakes are made we can always erase and restart. It's through mistakes we learn skills to do better the next time.
There is a big difference between indie and AAA game development. Within the horror genre, there are factors contributing to the superior innovation, fear elements, and player reception that each game development style takes. By examining both development processes and player experiences, this paper aims to unravel the nuanced differences in design, storytelling, and player engagement strategies between these two spheres of game development. The findings of this research highlight the strengths of indie developers in delivering innovative and immersive horror experiences but also looks into AAA titles and how they compare to their indie counterparts.
The concept of creativity has come a long way. The Old Greeks would call those creative forces muses, other religions referred to them as God. Today people still mostly treat creativity as an aha moment outside the area of influence. However, just by looking at the creative process one can tell, that creativity and creative work is more than just that one "Aha-Moment" (insight). It is clear that generating ideas demands planning and preparation, identifying something of interest like a problem, an opportunity or a challenge, doing research. This then leads to thinking of a solution, allowing time to incubate and iterations before arriving at something “complete.” Students learn that hard work is what makes their ideas come to life and sticktuiveness is what helps them get better.
