Hi! My name is Kaylee Yoshimoto. I graduated from Mililani High School in 2018. And, I transferred from Leeward Community College in 2020 after finishing my associates degree. If I were an artistʻs tool, I think I would be a pencil. With this tool, the possibilities are endless and could take any turn.
For centuries, the notion of the "ideal physique" has pervaded human consciousness, and its contours have been shaped by the media to a significant extent. From the tutelage of Leonardo Da Vinci on bodily equilibrium as a means to achieve physical perfection, to the present-day proliferation of social media, these ideals have been magnified and have culminated in individuals resorting to extreme measures in their quest to emulate the physiques portrayed by the media. Alas, the advent of social media has transmuted its function from a communication tool to a user-generated content platform that frequently propagates impracticable benchmarks of physical allure.
The concept of creativity has come a long way. The Old Greeks would call those creative forces muses, other religions referred to them as God. Today people still mostly treat creativity as an aha moment outside the area of influence. However, just by looking at the creative process one can tell, that creativity and creative work is more than just that one "Aha-Moment" (insight). It is clear that generating ideas demands planning and preparation, identifying something of interest like a problem, an opportunity or a challenge, doing research. This then leads to thinking of a solution, allowing time to incubate and iterations before arriving at something “complete.” Students learn that hard work is what makes their ideas come to life and sticktuiveness is what helps them get better.
