Hi guys! My name is Kaylee! I have lived on Oahu my entire life. Ewa Beach has been my home ever since I was born. I attended Mililani High School and graduated from there in 2020. If I were an artist's tool, I would be a sketchbook. There are many empty blank spaces within a sketchbook but you can fill those spaces with new, creative ideas. I feel like it's similar to how my brain is right now. At moments, it feels as though I am at a loss for what to do but then after a while, ideas start to flow and fill the canvas.
The research focused on the concept of Hallyu culture and how it has affected American culture for the better through looking at Korean pop music, Korean TV shows and films, as well as Korean beauty. The main point is to do a deep dive into these sub-topics and how it brought changes to American culture. Within the K-Pop section, it looks at the history of the genre as well as how that evolved into the K-Pop that is known today. Within the K-drama/K-film section, it looks at popular Korean TV shows and films that have made their way into American culture. Within the Korean beauty section, it looks at how Korean beauty products gained much popularity in America as Americans began incorporating Korean beauty products into their everyday routines. The findings of this study shows the great impact Hallyu culture has made through globalization and acceptance in America.
The concept of creativity has come a long way. The Old Greeks would call those creative forces muses, other religions referred to them as God. Today people still mostly treat creativity as an aha moment outside the area of influence. However, just by looking at the creative process one can tell, that creativity and creative work is more than just that one "Aha-Moment" (insight). It is clear that generating ideas demands planning and preparation, identifying something of interest like a problem, an opportunity or a challenge, doing research. This then leads to thinking of a solution, allowing time to incubate and iterations before arriving at something “complete.” Students learn that hard work is what makes their ideas come to life and sticktuiveness is what helps them get better.
