My name is Marc! I grew up in Waipahu and am a proud alum of Waipahu High School. If I was an artist’s tool, I would be a set of paint because I enjoy adding color to everyone’s lives. We all carry blank canvases that I aim to fill with colors others will admire and feel uplifted by, just as they do with my canvas.
This research examined the human experience with music, exploring how musical compositions trigger nostalgic responses and how it benefits the health, mind, and body of individuals. Music often has the potential to evoke familiarity, where the song sparks memories directly tied to their past experiences with the music; and unfamiliarity, where specific sounds within a song act as triggers, prompting associated memories to resurface. It investigates the ways in which music stimulates the brain that releases hormones such as dopamine and oxytocin that take on the roles of memories, pleasurable experiences, and bond with other people. Consequences for this research are the therapeutic benefits of music, considering its implications for mental health interventions. The consequences of this research encompass the therapeutic advantages of music, particularly in relation to its potential impact on mental health. It explores the use of music and its composition as a tool for enhancing the well-being and emotional resilience of individuals.
The concept of creativity has come a long way. The Old Greeks would call those creative forces muses, other religions referred to them as God. Today people still mostly treat creativity as an aha moment outside the area of influence. However, just by looking at the creative process one can tell, that creativity and creative work is more than just that one "Aha-Moment" (insight). It is clear that generating ideas demands planning and preparation, identifying something of interest like a problem, an opportunity or a challenge, doing research. This then leads to thinking of a solution, allowing time to incubate and iterations before arriving at something “complete.” Students learn that hard work is what makes their ideas come to life and sticktuiveness is what helps them get better.
