My name is Noah Tomas. I grew up in Kapolei, Hawai‘i. I went to Kapolei High School and graduated in the class of 2018. Straight out of high school, I enrolled and attended University of Hawai‘i - West O‘ahu. I will be graduating with my BA degree in Creative Media with a concentration in General Creative Media. If I was an artist's tool, I would be a keyboard. The keyboard can do many tasks and be used for the most rigorous projects. We trust it translate our thoughts and ideas onto a page. Telling a great story can be done in many forms but the keyboard can do it in just a few clicks..
This research project examined the relationship between audience viewership and content duration. To better understand this relationship, studies of visual activity were used to explain the tolerance that audience members can endure. The results showed that average shot lengths were tolerable if high visual activity is kept short. Other studies analyzed were measuring blinking to gauge audience attention. The results showed that videos with chaotic-styles of editing kept audiences attention the most.
The concept of creativity has come a long way. The Old Greeks would call those creative forces muses, other religions referred to them as God. Today people still mostly treat creativity as an aha moment outside the area of influence. However, just by looking at the creative process one can tell, that creativity and creative work is more than just that one "Aha-Moment" (insight). It is clear that generating ideas demands planning and preparation, identifying something of interest like a problem, an opportunity or a challenge, doing research. This then leads to thinking of a solution, allowing time to incubate and iterations before arriving at something “complete.” Students learn that hard work is what makes their ideas come to life and sticktuiveness is what helps them get better.
