Hi my name is Jenna Hasan. For most of my life, I've lived in Hawai‘i, moving here when I was a baby. Most of my childhood was spent living in Aina Hina. I also spent a year living in Qatar and a few months in Mongolia. My first half of high school was at the Academy of the Pacific. After the school closed, I went to Pacific Buddhist Academy and graduated there. Although my faith is Islam, not Buddhism, I came to respect many teachings. For college, I started at Kapiolani community college and got my degree in New Media arts with a concentration in Animation. If I were an artistʻs tool, I would be a smudge tool. Instead of erasing, why not repurpose? I like to mix different things, beautify odd-looking spots, and sometimes in my overzealous attempt to make my work clear, it comes out blurry.
This research argued that stories create a more inclusive world as they help people understand those who are different from them, thanks to their structure, use of emotions, and unique audience and neurological engagement. Moreover, it discusses the neurodivergent community and how stories can and have been used to cultivate understanding.
The concept of creativity has come a long way. The Old Greeks would call those creative forces muses, other religions referred to them as God. Today people still mostly treat creativity as an aha moment outside the area of influence. However, just by looking at the creative process one can tell, that creativity and creative work is more than just that one "Aha-Moment" (insight). It is clear that generating ideas demands planning and preparation, identifying something of interest like a problem, an opportunity or a challenge, doing research. This then leads to thinking of a solution, allowing time to incubate and iterations before arriving at something “complete.” Students learn that hard work is what makes their ideas come to life and sticktuiveness is what helps them get better.
