Hi, I'm Hannah, a born and raised Oʻahu local from Ewa Beach. I graduated from James Campbell High School in 2018 and pursued a Digital Media major at Leeward Community College. Due to the pandemic, I transferred to UH West Oʻahu to complete a Bachelor's degree in General Creative Media. My future plans involve obtaining a teaching license in CTE at Leeward CC to teach Digital Media at the secondary level while continuing my education in Creative Media at UHWO. If I were an artist’s tool, I would be the keyframes on Adobe Audition. I tend to become a perfectionist when I do audio work, which causes me to perfect the seamlessness of my audio. Aside from treating any undesired sounds in my audio tracks, I strive to make my audio as seamless as possible by adjusting the keyframes constantly to fade in/out my music, SFX, and voiceovers. It is so satisfying when my audio sounds exactly the way I want it to be.
For decades, the public education system has been in a teacher shortage. This paper will examine the different factors such as a lack of support, job responsibilities, work environment, virtual learning, etc. that are specifically affecting the teacher in the HIDOE (Hawaiʻi Department of Education). Furthermore, it will elaborate on the effect the COVID-19 pandemic has left on teachers and how it worsened the factors. Throughout the paper, internal and external issues will be uncovered through data and personal experiences of teachers.
The concept of creativity has come a long way. The Old Greeks would call those creative forces muses, other religions referred to them as God. Today people still mostly treat creativity as an aha moment outside the area of influence. However, just by looking at the creative process one can tell, that creativity and creative work is more than just that one "Aha-Moment" (insight). It is clear that generating ideas demands planning and preparation, identifying something of interest like a problem, an opportunity or a challenge, doing research. This then leads to thinking of a solution, allowing time to incubate and iterations before arriving at something “complete.” Students learn that hard work is what makes their ideas come to life and sticktuiveness is what helps them get better.
