Hi My name is Matthew Naki. Born and raised in Mililani, Hawaii, I graduated Mililani Highschool in 2015, after which I juggled both work and Leeward Community College. Now I am here, trying to pursue my passion in the art of Film! I think the biggest tool an artist can have is their own brain. This is where the creativity comes from, and is the first step to creating foundations and the understanding of their own works before molding, shaping, drawing, or painting even happens.
The whole goal of this research topic is to show different types of free or cheap AI tools that can be used within a project to help accommodate for a lack of budget and creativity, or even expand on an idea to make a small and simple idea more lively and unique. I also would like to address some public concerns that have come up while using these AI and what that could mean for the people using the programs.
The concept of creativity has come a long way. The Old Greeks would call those creative forces muses, other religions referred to them as God. Today people still mostly treat creativity as an aha moment outside the area of influence. However, just by looking at the creative process one can tell, that creativity and creative work is more than just that one "Aha-Moment" (insight). It is clear that generating ideas demands planning and preparation, identifying something of interest like a problem, an opportunity or a challenge, doing research. This then leads to thinking of a solution, allowing time to incubate and iterations before arriving at something “complete.” Students learn that hard work is what makes their ideas come to life and sticktuiveness is what helps them get better.
