Hello, My name is Alexis Decker. I grew up in Ewa Beach, Oahu my entire life. I attended James Campbell Highschool, and during my time there, the school started up new programs. The programs I'd say were similar to how college is structured, with your major, basic classes, then major classes. In high school, I initially took the Academy of Health and Sciences for about two years. I then took the Academy of Creative Media for my senior year. I always knew I had a passion for the creative media field and getting to be hands on and creative with anything. This led me to take the major of Creative Media in UHWO! It has been a blast learning so many different skills and topics that I would not have thought to have studied. If I could be any artist tool, I love erasers, that would be my art tool's choice. You can do many things with an eraser such as erasing, cutting them to make stamps, erase the sticky side of a post-it notes to create your own makeshift putty, and probably much more! There are scented erasers, cute animal shaped erasers, and colorful ones.
The research explores the history of artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on the art community. The rise of AI-generated art has sparked debates, with human artists criticizing it for lacking creativity and questioning its authenticity as art. AI generators' ability to produce artworks rapidly and mimic popular styles has created challenges for traditional artists, who struggle to match AI's speed and versatility. Despite initial tensions, many artists have embraced AI as a tool to enhance creativity and workflow, using it as a source of inspiration rather than a replacement for human artistry. This research concludes that, while AI has introduced competition, it has not replaced human artists or their roles, instead fostering new opportunities for collaboration between art and technology.
The concept of creativity has come a long way. The Old Greeks would call those creative forces muses, other religions referred to them as God. Today people still mostly treat creativity as an aha moment outside the area of influence. However, just by looking at the creative process one can tell, that creativity and creative work is more than just that one "Aha-Moment" (insight). It is clear that generating ideas demands planning and preparation, identifying something of interest like a problem, an opportunity or a challenge, doing research. This then leads to thinking of a solution, allowing time to incubate and iterations before arriving at something “complete.” Students learn that hard work is what makes their ideas come to life and sticktuiveness is what helps them get better.
