Hi, my name is Holly. I was born and raised on Oahu and attended Mid Pacific Institute and graduated 2014. After high school I went to art school in New York City but made my way back to the islands and attended Honolulu Community College for their fashion program, then transferred to University of Hawaii at Manoa to study Marketing and then transferred to University of Hawaii West Oahu to pursue a Creative Media degree. Some of my interests and hobbies are sewing, attending concerts and music festivals, and watching films. If I were an artist's tool I would be watercolor paint because I feel like my personality is easy and free flowing but can come in a ton of colors. I am also very soft and quiet sometimes like the first layer of watercolor paint on a canvas, or I can be built up to be more bold and rich. Like watercolor paint, I can also adapt to any type of environments and can mix easily with other mediums (people).

Social media is a powerful tool for artists navigating the competitive art world.
The concept of creativity has come a long way. The Old Greeks would call those creative forces muses, other religions referred to them as God. Today people still mostly treat creativity as an aha moment outside the area of influence. However, just by looking at the creative process one can tell, that creativity and creative work is more than just that one "Aha-Moment" (insight). It is clear that generating ideas demands planning and preparation, identifying something of interest like a problem, an opportunity or a challenge, doing research. This then leads to thinking of a solution, allowing time to incubate and iterations before arriving at something “complete.” Students learn that hard work is what makes their ideas come to life and sticktuiveness is what helps them get better.
