The Dark One

a.k.a. Nerull

Deity known as The Dark One is the god of death, darkness, murder, and the underworld. He is commonly known as the 'Reaper', the foe of all good, the hater of life, and the bringer of darkness. His divine focus is a black disk with a deep purple border and a skull in its center.

Nerull is usually seen as a robed skeleton, carrying a scythe called "Lifecutter". His is evil, and his clerics are feared throughout the lands as cold, calculating murderers. Nerull is the patron deity of those who seek the greatest evil pleasures for their own enjoyment or gain.

Among the Torakkis, Nerull is known as Shar the Reaper. Shar is a lover of the night and the Lord of Darkness. He is a ruler amongst deities, and presides over caverns, darkness, dungeons, forgetfulness, loss, night, and its secrets. Many say he was in love with Istus a lesser demi-goddess of Fate, Destiny, Divination, the Future, and Honesty and some dare to think Nerull is in this context a servant of Istus, and in charge of ending mortal lives upon her command.
