Gray Elf Racial Traits

Gray Elves can achieve supernatural learning over their long lives, but their light bodies do not handle abuse well. +2 Intelligence, -2 Consitution.

Medium-sized: As medium-sized creature, Gray Elves have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.

Gray Elf base speed is 30 ft.

Low-light Vision: Gray Elves can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight and similar condition or poor illumination. They retain the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions.

Immunity to sleep spells and similar magical effects and a +2 racial saving throw bonus against Enchantment spells or effects.

Weapon Proficiency: Gray Elves receive the Martial Weapon Proficiency feats for the shortsword, rapier, longbow, composite longbow, shortbow, and composite shortbow. Gray Elves esteem the art of swordplay and archery, so all Gray Elves are familiar with these weapons.

+2 racial bonus on Knowledge (arcana) checks, The teaching of lore to the young is standard, and Gray Elf youths can recite long passages of tales and tidbits of magic.

+2 racial bonus on Listen, Search, and Spot checks. A Gray Elf who merely passes within 5ft. of a secret or concealed door is entitled to a search check to notice it as if she were actively looking for the door. A Gray Elf's senses are so keen that she practically has a sixth sense about hidden portals.

Elven Trance: As with all elves, Grey Elves do not sleep like members of the other common races do. Instead, they meditate in a deep trance for 4 hours a day. An elf resting in this fashion gains the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep. While meditating, an elf dreams, though these dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice. The Common word for an elf’s meditation is “trance,” as in “four hours of trance.”

Automatic Languages: Low-Elven, High-Elven and Merchant's Tongue. Bonus Languages: Celestial and Sylvan.

Favored Class Wizard. A multiclass Gray Elf's ranger class does not count when determining whether he takes an experience point penalty for multiclassing. fighter/wizard druids are especially common among them.
