HealthSafety Report =96 End of Sim 05/17/2013 Douglas Trent Notes: Crew 130's stay at MDRS had no major medical issues during our two-week stay. There were only minor medical issues of scrapes and cuts, bloody noses, etc. The medical supplies listed in the two weekly HSO reports were the only medical supplies used during our stay and are summarized bellow. The only significant medical/safety event during our rotation was the discovery of a rattlesnake outside the engineering airlock (by the red gas can), during one of our EVAs. Simulation activities in the local are were suspended until DG came and took care of the snake. There were no incidents involving the snake. The crew made no further snake sightings. There are a few BSIC items to note: 1) The room closest the staircase is reported to have bare wires sticking out of a receptacle. It is unknown weather the wire leads are live/hot or not. 2) A few corners of the diamond plating floor on the first level of the Hab are bending up and can pose safety threats for crewmembers walking down stairs to the restroom barefoot/in socks only. A piece of cardboard and some duct tape were put over the corner to prevent accidents for now. Medical Supplies Used by Crew 130: - 1 roll of cohesive flexible ace-bandage - 6 band-aids - 1 sterile pad - 8 strips of medical tape - Small amounts of antibiotic ointment - Small amounts of Betadine --=20
