Commander's Report:
12/23/2012
John Reynolds
Earlier today a two person eva was conducted to Teetering Rock area to access walking conditions.
Conditions were just acceptable. In the afternoon a four person, four hour eva lead by April Davis was
successful in reaching and conducting geographical research in the Teetering Rock area east of the
Hab. Many rock samples along with petrified wood were collected for further study.Today was the first
day in many days that the crew were able to leave the Hab. Happy faces all around and at last,
science! We are taking advantage of this weather window as we have received yet another severe weather
alert approaching our location. Would this be any different on a real mission? Probably not. Snow or
blowing sand, caution and safety come first.
