Today was another packed day. The crew got up early to conduct our weather balloon drop test.
Unfortunately, the balloon failed and the EVA team was unable to complete the drop test. The crew is
currently planning a new EVA to conduct a drop test from a point of high elevation tomorrow.
Schumann and Doug spent most of the morning looking into possible alternative options for conducting
our drop test. This afternoon Shelby, Chrissy and Shannon went out on an emergency vehicle repair
simulation EVA. This EVA was submitted by one of our NASA INSPIRE students. Hab com communicated two
simulated failures to the EVA team the first being a broken lock bolt on our trailer and the second
being a broken wheel hub lock on our trailer followed by simulation of loss of communication with
Hab base. The crew is looking forward to a clear night sky tonight! Schumann and Steffan are making
dinner now. The crew is ready for a relaxing meal with classical music after a busy day on Mars!
