Today, we completed our last day of emergency EVA simulations. These last couple of days have been very demanding on all of us. I asked a lot from the crew and they responded extremely well.
For our first EVA today, we woke up earlier than usual to initiate our ‘walkback’ average speed simulation.
Morning was decided for this EVA to take advantage of the cooler temperatures. With the course selected and all proper precautions taken, we embarked on a nearly 3km walking EVA. This EVA was challenging. But the beautiful scenery made our trek easier to complete. We came back really tired, rested for a bit, had a delicious lunch (once again), and then proceeded to get ready for our last EVA of the day (and of our crew rotation).
For the second EVA, we started with mating and demating a mockup of an ISS EVA connector. I asked the crewmembers to don a set of tight ski gloves I had
brought, so that they could get a better appreciation of what is like to work with pressurized gloves. As expected, they all concurred that working with tighter gloves made manipulation of the EVA connector much more difficult. We then moved to a very small hill near the Hab, from which we set up an emergency ladder and performed simulated EVA ascend and descend simulations. The ladder
proved to be very safe for an EVA crew to use in case of an emergency. After this last EVA, the crew was very tired, so I suggested that they all get some more rest.
The plan for tonight is to finish our reports, eat dinner, and do our workout session.
Tomorrow we plan to clean the Hab, start our final reports and pack. It’s hard to believe our last day is so near. Our time at MDRS has definitely gone by too fast!

Crew Physical Health:
All are well.
Eva Depart Time: 8:20
Eva Return Time: 10:58
Narrative Of Field Mission Results:
We performed a very large EVA which took a lot of time. It was about determinate the average walking speed for MDRS. We took into consideration stops, a normal walking pace, and some uneven terrain. Although the windy time affected our walking, the experience was incredible and our body finished a little tired.
Eva Depart Time: 2:00
Eva Return Time: 2:25
Narrative Of Field Mission Results:
We performed our last EVA which was about ascent and descent in an emergency situation using a ladder. We went to a little hill and made tests before starting the EVA.
It did not take a lot of time because it was little short. However, it was one of the most important because it is for crew members' safety.

Tomorrow's Plan:
We will finish our project Barsoom.
We will do a special cleaning, vacuuming, and ordering of the Hab for the next crew.
We will start working on our final reports.
Inventory:
We did not do it today.
Support Req: NONE
Miscelleneous:
Today has been our last day with EVAs. It was great. We took the advantage of the time.
We got good result performing the two EVAs. The first which was about determinate the average walking speed for MDRS. It was incredible but little tired. The second was about go to a little hill to ascent and descent in an emergency situation using a ladder.
Now we are happy to have had the opportunity to develop all EVAs which we planned to test.
We are spending one of our last time together (here in the Hab) learning from each other.
Everybody is okay.
