Notes:
Yesterday afternoon we did exercises for about 45 minutes in order to stay fit for the rest for the
days of our time here in the Hab.
Last night we realized the temperatures were decreasing and our skin was getting drier. So today
before our EVA we put extra sunscreen and some chapstick in the lips. We filled our water containers
to the top so we can stay hydrated during this EVA.
In this EVA we were simulating emergency situations and rescue/type missions with a stretcher and a
stretcher adaptor for the ATV. While simulating the rescue mission of an injured crewmember in the
supine position I –the simulated injured crewmember- got a cut in my inner lip from all the movement
of being in the stretcher. I was in a little pain but after a few minutes this decreased.
From the experience of being a simulated injured crewmember I can confirm that the spacesuit’s
helmet can potentially ended up hurting the crewmember´s head. I’ve noticed the helmets are kind of
old now the screws are becoming dangerous for all the crew. We were more than 3 hours outside
completing the EVA so we’ve done a lot of manual work during this time.
From all these activities the Greenhab engineer told me she had a blister in her left hand. Because
it wasn’t an open injury I put a band aid with gel pad to relieve the pain quicker. I told her to
let me know how she was feeling the rest of the day.
At 2 pm after the EVA the crew engineer and I started to make lunch. We were frying some home-made
hamburgers and the fire alarm was triggered by the smoke from all the cooking. After a few minutes
the alarm went off and we continued cooking. It’s good to know all the alarms are working just fine
in case of any emergency because it’s better to have a warning sign and prevent any damages.
At 5 pm all the crewmembers started to work on building tomorrow’s configurations for the EVA. While
trying to place two wheels in the stretcher and the placing the simulated injured crewmember in it I
got two grazes one in my arm and one in my thigh. There were minor so I only put a band aid with gel
pad to relieve the pain.
All the crewmembers continued to drink lots of water in order to stay hydrated even though the
temperatures are varying from one day to another we still need to remain in the best physical and
emotional state as we can. Tonight we will have a Vitamin C pill after dinner like every day. No
more incidents to report.
