> Purpose:
> Comparison of concretions of the Dakota Sandstone to those of an inverted channel.
> Narrative:
> We headed out of the airlock at close to 15:00 and began loading the ATVs, which had been checked in the morning on their status. During the loading it became apparent that despite testing the radios thoroughly, my own was not working properly, so we had to do another airlock cycle to replace it. Once ready, we drove about 10 minutes carefully to our intended access point, where whe left the ATVs to proceed further on foot (about 50 m). I tried to contact HabCom to notify them of our progress but was unable to, due to large obstruction caused by the mountains.
> Our geologist began working right away, while our journalist documented the surroundings and the crew. I myself assisted in waypoint tracking and then began exploring the surroundings a bit. I tried various different spots and altitudes and sometimes had some sort of contact, but nothing clear. I finally climbed up on the mountain top, and even though I could hear HabCom at times rather clearly, they could not understand me.
> At 17:15 we began our return journey and arrived at the airlock at 17:30, ending EVA #2 successfully.
