Brief Narrative of Field Mission Results:
EVA #1 This ATV EVA, commenced with three crew members including myself to survey and locate roads north of the Hab. We found one road leading northeast with a branch road running East. It was difficult to find this road visually as some of the road had been washed out. GPS coordinates were quite helpful in this matter as some walking from the main road to find the usable road had to be done. The state of some parts of the road was quite rough and had not been traveled on recently.
EVA#2: This ATV EVA was used to locate, which they did, roads leading northwest and west from the HAB onto the Lower Blue Hills plain (HAB RIDGE).
Engineering/Hab maintenance: Daily engineering checks completed.
Packages delivered to the Hab: None
Plans for tomorrow: One two-person PED EVA is planned to find, locate with GPS coordinates and photograph a previous crew find of a petrified log and a brain like red rock structure. This is less than 2 kms east of the Hab. The other ATV EVA will continue surveying West and Northwest of the Hab as the road network is quite extensive there.
Support requests:None
Miscellaneous: We had a visit from Jean Hunter, our food specialist, who has delivered addition supplies. We invited Jean and her other crew member for supper and to have a viewing of the late night stars with the Musk Observatory
Crew spirits remain high.
