Notes:
Yesterday afternoon the XO told he had a graze in his left elbow from repairing the parallel configuration for the EVA we did. It was minor so any medicine was applied.
After dinner we had our regular doses of vitamin C. I checked the HSO cabinet and I realized the Vitamin C container is half way empty. I recommend Mission Support acquire more for the next crews. It is very important for crew members to have at least one type of vitamins during their rotation in MDRS.
Today in the morning crew members went on an EVA with the purpose of measuring the average walking speed in case of a rover (ATV) failure during an EVA. They took about 3 hours in completing this EVA. The crew engineer told me he tripped with a rock, but it was nothing serious.
I stayed in the Hab doing exercises for an hour with the GreenHab engineer. After I completed my routine, my back pain decreased.
While my crew members were on the EVA, I was monitoring them with the radio. I lost communication from an hour after they left approximately. Communication between the crew members and the Hab was lost on several occasions. But I had confidence on the crew members as they prepared very well for this EVA by letting us know exactly where they were going and procedures to take if they were not back by a predetermined time.
While I was cooking lunch, I burned two of my fingers with soup while I was serving. I tried to put a moist burn pad in the burnt area but I only found pads for regular size burns, so smaller size pads are recommended.
Today our guest journalist was taking the final photos of our EVAs and she started to complain about flu symptoms. She asked me for some medicines so I gave her two pills of Sudafed and two Halls pills for her sore throat. I hope she can feel better after three great days of hard work.
In the afternoon, I joined the GreenHab engineer to the Hab to water the plants. Because today we had a lot of strong winds the door smashed right into my arm and made a graze with a visible screw that was there, something that the next crew can perhaps address.
After a long day of working and a week full of EVAs I told the crewmembers to rest in the afternoon. Most of them rested for an hour and a half and woke up in great spirits.
Tomorrow we will have another productive day here in analog Mars where safety is always first. No more incidents to report.
