March 21st.
Today it seems like someone angered Αἴολος (Aeolus), the God of Wind, because, martian, we had a windy day. So windy that our morning EVA walk was more like paragliding in the dunes. The EVA suit offered enough protection, but walking for 2 hours was a challenge. Speaking of that, that much wind and sand ended up jamming two cameras and rendering them unusable. Good for us, we are an engineering crew, so we are doing maintenance and cleaning to try to fix them. After coming back home, we had a little snack party! All the reserves we saved up to this point was poured into our voracious stomachs as a nice brunch while lunch was being cooked.
All the fatigue accumulated this week finally burst into nap time. One by one, each crewmember slipped into their chambers to have a meeting with Morpheus. In this
regard, I wonder what kind of gods live in Mars.
Living in a Hab in the middle of nowhere taught me that it's important to have a fixed schedule as well as add some unexpected activities. Otherwise, we will slowly go insane. We enjoy the sunset everyday, we have good food (actually more than when we eat at home), nice environment and a strong friendship. Saluton!
